FAQ

Top Questions

Can I book a double occupancy room and add two more friends to our room later?

Yes! You can book a reservation for two guests now and when you find one or two more friends to join we can add them to your reservation and adjust the pricing for all as applies, as long as we have staterooms still available that can accommodate the additional number of guests. Reach out to us at wodonthewaves@landrykling.com at any time during the process and we can help you out!

Do children cost the same as adults?

Children under the age of three (3) at the date of sailing can be added to any stateroom as the 3rd or 4th guest for free! Please note that the $249 charge for port fees, governmental taxes, and other fees will still apply, as this is a charge we must pay for every name on the ship’s manifest.

When making a reservation involving a child under three (3), complete the reservation with all guests, and the child fare will be refunded. The guests will pay the applicable per person rate for the occupancy excluding the child/children.

After completing your reservation, please email us at wodonthewaves@landrykling.com to advise that your reservation needs an “under 3” child pricing adjustment and include your event reservation number.

Is this a family friendly cruise?

Yes! The cruise celebrates the entire community, which means families are welcome. In fact, some of our athletes will be bringing their families onboard. The cruise will offer exclusive programming at Celebrity’s Camp at Sea for children ages 3 and up (must be potty trained). Babysitting services are offered for select stateroom categories (subject to availability). If you have questions, please email us for more information. We also have great events in the works for families – sign up for our email list to get updates! Just a reminder, infants must be at least 6 months on the day of departure to sail. See you there!

Will there be drink packages available?

Yes!  Approximately four weeks before the sailing date, guests will receive an email confirming your cruise line booking number (this booking number will be different from your WOD on the Waves reservation number) for the cruise. The email will also contain instructions on how to check-in online via the cruise line’s website where you can view and purchase available drink packages.

How do I pay for onboard expenses?

The ship operates on a “cashless” system, meaning your boarding card & room key (also known as your SeaPass card) will be used as a charge card to make all onboard purchases. To activate your SeaPass® account, you will be asked to provide a credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover or Diners Club are accepted), and your onboard purchases will be automatically charged to this card at the end of your cruise. Additionally, your SeaPass account may be activated with a cash deposit once you are onboard the ship.

Please note that personal cheques, American Express Traveler Cheque Cards, any currency other than U.S. Dollars or other pre-paid cards or Maestro/Switch cards will NOT be accepted.

Also, please take care if you wish to set-up your SeaPass account using a debit card, as multiple advance authorization holds will be placed on your debit card account based on your onboard purchases. Once your account is settled, these holds (which are managed by your card provider and not Celebrity Cruises) may remain on your account for up to 30 days after the cruise ends. To avoid any potential overdraft charges from your bank, which would be solely your responsibility, please make sure that you have enough available funds in your account during this hold period.

A running tab of all your purchases will be kept under separate folio numbers for each guest, and an itemized statement will be delivered to your stateroom during the last night of the cruise. If you provided a credit card and there are no discrepancies, the amount will be charged to that credit card on the morning of disembarkation. If you used cash to activate the account, you will need to settle the account at the Guest Relations desk (to either receive a reimbursement of the unused amount you originally left or to pay the balance of what you have charged over the amount of what you originally left). Please settle any discrepancies on your SeaPass account before disembarking the ship.

Please note:
Guests who activate their SeaPass account with cash or traveler’s checks will be required to make additional deposits once the daily cash limit is reached.

What gratuity charges should I expect to see on board?

Gratuities and tips for casino dealers, bartenders and salon/spa personnel are not included in the standard shipboard gratuities since all guests will not use their services. A 20% gratuity will be automatically added to beverage purchases, minibar purchases, and spa and salon services. These gratuities will be noted on your receipt.

Travel Questions

What is the customs clearance procedure upon returning to the Port of Miami?

Detailed instructions about clearing customs will be provided onboard the ship near the end of the cruise. Some general guidelines/suggestions to keep in mind as you shop in foreign ports include: keep receipts for gifts and purchases; U.S. residents visiting foreign ports have a duty-free allowance of $800 retail purchases, one liter of liquor for guests 21 years or older, and one hundred cigars for guests 18 years or older.

What do I need to know about arriving at the Port of Miami and boarding the ship?

All guests must be on board NO LATER THAN 5:00pm, so plan accordingly!

Passports are not required for U.S. citizens but are strongly recommended. If you choose not to obtain a passport, you MUST have approved proof of citizenship, such as an original, raised-seal, state-issued (not hospital issued) birth certificate AND a driver’s license with you. The two documents must have matching names. If for some reason the names do not match (marriage, etc.), you will need a copy of a legal document(s) explaining why (marriage certificate, etc.).

IMPORTANT REMINDERS FOR A SMOOTH EMBARKATION!

Keep your identification and Xpress boarding pass, which you can print from Celebrity Cruises’ website after completing their required online check-in,  handy. Put them in your carry-on bag. Do not pack them in your luggage. You will need to produce these documents several times before boarding the ship.

Assist security. Heightened security measures at the Port help to ensure your safety. Please cooperate with security personnel to expedite boarding.

Tag your luggage. Complete and attach the luggage tags available for you to print when you’ve completed your online check-in. If you don’t have luggage tags, Porters at the cruise terminal can provide additional tags.

Carry valuables. Carry on any valuables, breakables, personal items and medications, along with your photo ID and cruise documents.

Follow signs. Digital directional signs at the cruise port with ship names and terminal assignments are updated daily.

What if I want to book a single occupancy stateroom?
Guests traveling alone in their own stateroom are responsible for the double-occupancy cost of the stateroom. WOD on the Waves is offering the Independent Traveler Program if you wish to cut the fee in half and be paired up with another guest of the same gender who is requesting the same stateroom category subject to availability. You will be walked through the options upon booking.
When should I plan to arrive/depart from Miami before and after the cruise?

Click here to view the day-by-day cruise schedule.

Due to governmental regulations regarding the cruise line submissions of departure manifests, guests are requested to complete Celebrity Cruises’ Online Check-in no later than three days prior to their scheduled cruise departure. If you have not completed Online Check-in, you will be required to complete this process at the pier at least two hours prior to the published sailing time.

Guests who completed the Online Check-in and have their printed or digital Xpress Pass are required to be at the pier and checked-in no later than 60 minutes prior to the scheduled sailing time or you may not be permitted to board.

No refunds will be given to guests who fail to bring the proper travel documents or show up late.
